Pencil Sketch Effect using Photoshop

Create a pencil sketch effect in Photoshop:

  1. Open your image in Photoshop.
  2. Duplicate the image layer by pressing Ctrl/Command + J.
  3. Desaturate the duplicated layer by pressing Shift + Ctrl/Command + U.
  4. Invert the layer by pressing Ctrl/Command + I.

  12. Go to Filter > Sketch > Photocopy and apply the following settings: Detail: 10, Darkness: 50.
  13. Finally, adjust the opacity of the Overlay layer to your liking.
